Church should be a place where God’s Word is open, read and taught faithfully each week. Church should also be a place where everyone is made to feel welcome. We believe that both of these ingredients are essential to having a great church. We want every person who walks through our front doors, whether they be a regular or a newcomer, to hear God’s great message of salvation shared and be cared for just like Jesus would. We want to learn more about Jesus, grow together and let others know the Good News God himself tells us about in the Bible. That is why our goal is to ‘know Christ, and to make him known’.

When you come to St James we would like you to hear about the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave his life to save sinful people from their rebellion against him. He offers every man, woman and child salvation through his own blood, shed on the Cross.

If you are interested in finding out about our services please have a read of the brief descriptions below or use the menu above to find out more. See you at church!

Our 8am service is run as a traditional prayer book service. The Anglican Prayer book is used each week with the emphasis placed on faithful teaching of God’s Word, prayer and singing of traditional songs.

This is our most popular service and is specifically geared towards families. During each service we will meet together as friends, sing, hear from God’s Word and pray for the needs of the church and the wider community. KidzChruch is runs at the same time as the service every week during the school year.

11:15am (Chinese)
This service is for anyone who can speak either Mandarin or Cantonese. The service is pastored by Hung-En Tien. Bible Study is run every week for the Chinese youth while the service is being held.

The 6pm service is designed for all the younger people in our local community – and for anyone else who would like to join us! Services are more informal however God’s Word is still proclaimed faithfully and truthfully each week. Prayer is also a strong focus. Great music and great food can also be found here!

    • Hi again,

I let Chris know you might be at the 9:30am service so he will keep an eye out for you.

  3. Hi Pam,

You are more than welcome to join us at St James. The page above will hopefully give you a feel for which service is best for you. The morning services (8am & 9:30am) are geared for families whereas the 7pm service is generally for anyone under 30. Try out both if you want.

If you are looking to go in the morning let me know and I’ll chat to our minister so he can say hi. If you come in the evening you are welcome to say hi to me. My name is Colin.
